On Saturday, we hosted our 11th Next Generation Harvest Party. Since we sell all our wine direct to people at home, this is a fun way to introduce the next generation to Hafner wines. It was a perfect Fall day with Mother Nature tempting a sprinkle of rain but the sun peered through later in the day. Check out some highlights from the day.
Although a bit unique in the blooming wine hospitality industry of Healdsburg and Sonoma County, we typically only host tours and tastings twice a month. Every visit is led by a family member and most of the time, it is me. We take pride in what we do, and we want to be the ones who share our story with patrons and guests. We feel it is the gracious thing to do. It reminds us of our visits to small wineries in France. We typically spend about 90 minutes talking about the vineyard and winemaking practices, all the while enjoying various wines.
With the Holidays approaching, Sarah wanted to share a few ways that we wrap wine bottles in sustainable, reusable way. As a family, we use kraft paper (even paper bags), old maps and newspaper. It is fun to get creative, finding just the right material for the gift recipient. Sarah also shares a DIY printable wrapping paper for bottles using her watercolor drawings.
During the Holidays, we are constantly moving fulfilling gift orders of wine destined to homes across the country. We are tickled by the sweet notes that arrive from gift givers sharing why they give Hafner wine. These are wonderful reminders to us! On Saturday, we had our annual Next Generation Harvest Party. Since we sell all our wine direct to people at home, this is one way that we introduce the next generation to Hafner Vineyard. We welcomed 120 guests to the winery where people tasted wine, nibbled on snacks, joined mini wine classes, shared their Hafner stories, added descriptors to the wine wheel and more. It was a perfect Fall day and a great way to toast the end of Harvest. Thanks to all who joined us!
