Meet the Team - Miguel

Name: Miguel Dominguez

Number of years at Hafner Vineyard: This month it will be one year.
MiguelDepartment/Role: I work in the vineyard doing lots of different jobs.

What’s something most people don’t know about you? I love going flea markets. My wife and I shop for clothes and furniture. We go as close as Napa and as far as San Jose. That one is the best in my opinion. We go three or four times a year.

Where did you grow up? Guanajuato, Mexico. I moved to California when I was 15.

Favorite local restaurant: Taqueria Santa Rosa and Olive Garden

What’s your perfect weekend day look like? Sundays are for our family. We go to mass. We attend churches in St. Helena, Cloverdale or Healdsburg. I also enjoy watching soccer, specially Club América and especially the team from Mexico City.
Miguel FamilyHow else do you spend your free time? I have three daughters (ages 17, 19 and 22) and with my wife (four women in the house) so we like to go shopping and relax as a family. I love taking my family to Los Angeles. My favorite is Disneyland and California Adventures. My daughters prefer Universal Studios.

Favorite Hafner wine (yes, just one!): Rosé, and my wife likes it too!

What’s the best part of being part of the Hafner Vineyard team? I like being in the vineyard. We talk a lot to each other and laugh a lot. It’s nice to work with friends.
Hafner TeamWhat’s the most exciting time of the year at Hafner Vineyard? Springtime because of the weather and there’s lots of growth and work in the vineyard.

Miguel TyingWhat’s the best part of living in Sonoma County? I love the weather and that it’s not too cold. I lived in Chicago and that was cold. Now I have lived in Healdsburg for 15 years; it’s a nice place but it’s expensive.

Personal motto or saying that you live by: Family first

Favorite day of the year: Christmas

What’s a memory of when you started working at Hafner Vineyard? Before Hafner Vineyard, I worked with Efren and David at another winery, so it was nice to know people here before starting.

What’s the craziest/funniest job you’ve done here? Within a few months of starting here, I helped at a winery event driving patrons in a shuttle. It was nice to meet some of the people who buy our wine.
