"Welcome to Hafner" Virtual Tasting
For almost four decades, we’ve been honored to be many patrons’ “secret winery” that they share with friends and family. Since travel and group gatherings are no longer part of our 2020 plans, and patrons aren’t able to visit us here in Alexander Valley, we decided it would be fun to bring Hafner Vineyard into people’s homes…virtually.
On October 29th, we shared a bit of our history, introduced the team behind the wine, discussed vineyard and winemaking practices and brought viewers inside the cellar (virtually) to taste four wines. We compared our 2016 main and Reserve Chardonnays, exploring the differences between the two winemaking styles. Then we tasted the 2014 Next Red and Cabernet Sauvignon. We also had a fun Q&A session which allowed for lively interaction with guests.
While it certainly is no substitute to being in-person together and sharing a glass of wine, we have found that bringing the winery to patrons’ homes allows us to dive deeper into certain topics and taste vintages we wouldn’t normally try in person.
